Apologia: The Human Body Advanced Biology
How do you think you can teach Advanced Sciences at home? This question has been asked to many home school families. For many families the answer to that is easy. “We plan to use Dr. Wile’s textbooks.”
He is the primary author of Science textbooks known as the Apologia “Exploring Creation With” series. The list of his credentials is long including a PHD in Nuclear Chemistry and former professor of Chemistry at Ball State University. He became aware of the lack of textbooks that would engage students in a way that would allow them to learn important concepts and enjoy doing it rather than just struggling to finish the course simply to gain a credit.
His approach to teaching was very unique to many. The Apologia textbooks are written in a conversational style, breaking down harder concepts with simpler explanations. His books are chocked full of experiments that can be done with simple household items thereby making it easy to do. The format that he has written the text in allows the parent that doesn’t have a degree to teach the course. As an added plus the parent or student has access to online help to answer any questions they might have. The Exploring Creation With series is written with a Christian worldview giving answers to critical questions that arise from secular programs. Dr. Wile shares both his knowledge and his faith to his students without shame throughout his books.
If you have a student that is interested in science and may be seeking a degree in the medical field or other science related programs this is a recommended program. After completing the course students are more than prepared for college level classes, to take the CLEP test or the Advanced Placement test.
