Branson Show: Clay Cooper’s Country Express
The Clay Cooper’s Country Express show packs so much entertainment for the entire family that it has to rank as one of the shows you do not want to miss when in Branson, Missouri.
About Clay Cooper
Clay Cooper has been performing for Branson audiences since the age of 16, originally coming to Branson to perform with a kid’s band known as the Texas Goldminors. Clay loved singing and playing bass, and loved meeting new people. What better place to do it than Branson! He continued performing in several Branson shows and now owns his own theatre. Clay hangs out after every one of his show, greeting the audience and meeting new fans!
Comedian Matt Gumm
What a talented comedian, musician, and singer who brings laughter to everyone around him. On the evening we attended, several skits were performed that included a good number of audience members. I have to say that this opening session warmed the hearts of the audience and prepared us for the show to follow.
An Evening for the Entire Family
This show had everyone involved. The night we attended, there were groups from all over the country from junior/senior high school students to senior groups. And I would make a large wager that everyone left having had the time of their life! From the comedy opening acts that audience members are drafted onto the stage to participate in to the songs from the last 50 years; the show brought back memories for everyone.
The evening included such a large variety of music. Of course there was country music, but the old style and contemporary. But they also included hit songs and groups from rock, gospel, current billboard hits, and some of my favorite patriotic songs!
Amazing Talent
This show has performers that were born with some amazing talent. Not only was the dancing impressive, but the impersonations were spot on! At one point, I share a picture of “Kenny Chesney” on stage to social media.
Within seconds one of my daughters was blowing up my phone about her favorite performer being just feet away from me! You know, as moms are prone to do… I didn’t correct her thinking. Instead I let her know that I would be meeting with the performer after the show and maybe I would be able to get her a photograph of him and my team.
As the show continued, I may have pushed my luck a little when I posted to social media a picture of ‘George Strait” on stage.
At this point, my daughter was calling my phone which I kept sending to voice mail. LOL.. She was certain that I was at the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH if both of her favorite performers were there and I was able to get a seat within feet of them!
Well, I did get a photograph after the show but I think the t-shirt worn by Clay gave me up. However, this does go to show how talented the performers are in the show and why you should not miss it when visiting Branson, Missouri.
Some of the show included impersonations of top acts from across all genres of music.
Who doesn’t remember these guys and their “Staying Alive”?
And when talking about legends, Brooks and Dunn were on the top of the charts with their “Hard Working Man”.
And while I may be dating myself with this one, I loved the “Joe Crocker” performance.
As you can see, the is no limit to the talent of the case and crew in the Clay Cooper’s Country Express show. The above is just a sampling from the night of entertainment. The show lasts over two hours but you wouldn’t know it. It was like a good book ending when they sang their last song of the evening. I didn’t want to leave.
The Cooper Family
If you aren’t aware, Clay Cooper isn’t the only Cooper in the show. His wife Tina and their boys Colton and Caden are also part of the show cast. Clay and Tina do a spectacular and fun duet of Johnny Cash and June Carter during the impersonations part of the show that is precious to watch.
You will want to make sure to stay seated after the show is over because Clay (and the cast) hang out after every show, to greet the audience, answer questions, take photographs and get to know their fans!
If you have a trip to Branson coming up, make sure to order your tickets to see Clay Cooper’s Country Express at the Clay Cooper Theatre. The entire family will enjoy the evening together.
