Looking for a quick and simple way to serve chicken? You could serve this dish a different way every night of the week by simply changing up the seasons and type of cheese. It is almost goof proof!
I say almost goof proof because our family, like most…have those one or two that can burn boiling water! If you are skilled enough to make Mac n Cheese or Hot Dogs… you have the skill set to make this one! Only hard rule…cook the chicken all the way! Uncooked chicken will make you and your family oh so sick. Other than that, have fun with it. Change the seasons of the bread crumbs or type of cheese. Try adding sesame or poppy seeds to the bread crumbs. There is no wrong way to make this..only what you enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)
2 Tablespoons Bacon Bits (3 slices real – chopped)
1/4 cup shredded cheese (your choice)
1/2 stick melted butter
Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt to taste
Directions:
In large flat bottom pan, combine bread crumbs, bacon, and cheese
Melt butter in a flat bottom baking dish or saucer
Remove chicken from package and pat dry. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste
Dip both sides of the chicken in the melted butter. Make sure to get it well covered
Roll chicken in bread mixture until well coated on both sides (press chicken into mixture)
Place chicken on an oven proof baking dish or cookie sheet
Sprinkle remaining bread mixture over chicken and drizzle with any remaining butter
Bake in preheated oven set at 350 for 30-40 minutes until chicken is done
mmm, I can almost smell the chicken roasting in the oven! thanks for sharing this recipe.
