DIY House Seasoning Mix
Do you find that you are reaching for the same base spices for every dish you create? We keep our standard spices on the counter because we use them for everything. So why not create a House Seasoning Blend that would save time when cooking?
What is nice about this blend is that you can change the portions depending on your flavor profiles.
Ingredients
Dried Onion
Dried Celery Flakes
Garlic Powder
Black Pepper
Fennel
Coriander
Marjoram
Thyme
Oregano
Basil
Directions:
We start with equal parts of the above and place in the food processor before pulsing a couple of times until well blended.
Store in an airtight jar
You can also add salt, but we opted to leave out and add to the dishes as needed when cooking. You can always add salt but once over salted…it is a challenge to reduce it.
Do you have a favorite blend of spices? Why not make your own spice blend to save time and money?
This sounds wonderful. I like to buy spices and herbs in bulk, so this is a great use for them. I would likely use this blend for everything lol
Great combination of spices! Thank you
Happy Holidays!
I am one of those folks that “create” their own “special seasoning blend” from the bulk barrels. So looking at what others use gives me ideas of what flavors/seasonings to merge together in order to create a specific tasted.
This sounds like a great blend of seasonings! I love Montreal Steak seasoning and use it on everything. My go-to simple house blend is sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder. It’s great for roasts.
Very similar to the Montreal Steak seasonings
