Dryer Sheet Cleans Baked On Food
OK.. I have to confess.. I thought it even if i didn’t actually do it.. <<an eye roll>> when my hubby said that the nasty, because he didn’t prepare the pan before baking in it pan…. could be cleaned with a DRYER SHEET!

Yep, he said he had read that simply placing a dryer sheet inside the nasty, because he didn’t prepare the pan before baking in it pan with a little water was all that was needed to get it clean without scrubbing.
So, here are the pictures of our experiment.
Emptied pan of remaining meatloaf and placed pan in sink with dryer sheet (#Snuggle brand).
Filled pan with warm water. Note: Never expected the dryer sheet mixed with water to result in bubbles! First bad feeling! Oh please don’t make me have to tell my husband that he was right and I shouldn’t have rolled my eyes at his suggestion.
Picture of pan a couple of hours later. Hmmm… beginning to think I will have to apologize for the thought about the eye roll thing!
Pan when water removed. Yes, the remaining partials came right off with running water.
I have repeated this on a couple of other dishes; with the same results. Shoot, I was hoping it was a fluke. Not sure why it works, but it does!
By the way, the meatloaf was wonderful! Read the post with the recipe for Dad’s Meatloaf.
Thanks! Going to try this today… I’ve got a pan in the sink that I’ve been procrastinating on. If this works – you’re going to save me so much time…
Timing is awesome! I just made pulled pork sammies, but the cooker has well done tidbits stuck to the bottom. Dryer sheet’s here I come!
Do you know if this cleaning method would work on metal baking dishes?
I haven’t tried it on metal pans. I was so surprised that it worked!
I never knew a dryer sheet could do this! Great tool in my cleaning arsenal! Thanks for sharing this!
Love this tip! We do it all the time and it really works – great for clean up on crockpots.
