Find and Fix Your Home’s Cold Spots
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Review Wire Media for BlindSpotz™. All opinions are 100% my own.
Have you ever been relaxing at home and then feel a draft? My family room is terrible. I can be sitting there watching TV and all of a sudden it feels like someone left the door open! Brrrr… What’s the best way to solve this problem?
Actually, we have been finding and fixing our home’s cold spots with a DIY hack by BlindSpotz™.
The idea behind this product is that we all have BlindSpotz™ in our homes. These areas are costing us money in heating and cooling expenses.
Now trying to find these spots (aka Blind Spots) can be a bit of a challenge since we can’t see the breeze. We can feel it, but we can’t see it so figuring out which door, light switch plate, or window might be allowing cold (or hot as the season changes) in is tough.
This is where BlindSpotz™ comes in and can help you save money not only on the discovery of the areas that need attention but in the actual repairs, many of which you can do yourself.
Finding out where your areas of concern are is easy. Just follow the easy steps to place BlindSpotz™ in vulnerable areas of your home. When you apply the sticker to a wall, you gently rub it in place which activates the sensors.
Over the next 48 hours, the temperature in your home is recorded on the color bar which is super easy to read. Each of the temperature ranges are clearly marked and show up as a deeper and deeper color. The darker the color, the bigger the cold issue you have.
The sensor stickers range from 65˚ F down to 50˚ F. Anything within the 50˚ F or 55˚ F range on your BlindSpotz™ sensor indicates that you do have a cold problem that should be addressed.
Simply take a photograph of your sensor sticker and email it to BlindSpotz™. They will email you back with information on where to start looking for the problem as well as what local retail store will have the items you need for any DIY repairs. They even include a discount coupon for you to use on any purchases.
Now isn’t this a nicer, not to mention less expensive way to start finding and fixing your home’s cold spots? Some of the fixes may be as simple as placing insulation behind your light switch. Of course you could just call a home energy inspection company and let them come out to look around before offering a service bill for repairs.
For me, I would rather start with the simple things and see if that doesn’t make a difference around here before dropping hundreds of dollars on just the inspection!
If this sounds like something you need around your house, make sure to enter below to win a set of these sensor stickers. We are giving away a package of these sensors to three lucky readers.
Good luck on your entries!
