Enjoy Amazing Talent in the Hughes Music Show
There is something special about experiencing a family performing together. And the Hughes Music Show is certainly this but on steroids! We have a large family, but having thirty, yes 30..children in ages from toddlers to adults performing is jaw dropping. This show should be on your “Can’t Miss” list for your next visit to Branson!
About The Hughes Brothers
When the entire Hughes family packed up and moved to Branson, Missouri from their home of 27 years in Taylorsville, Utah, they had no idea of the adventure in store for them. Two of the brothers were married at the time and came with their wives and children. The three other brothers have also since been married. Marty, Jason, Adam, Ryan, and Andy are married to Cindy, Mara,Vikki, Carina, and Becky, respectively. Now their wives and more than 35 children and grand-children are also in the show, delighting audiences as they entertain alongside the brothers. With the largest cast in Branson, they also carry the title of the “World’s Largest Performing Family”.
In January of 2000, the Hughes Brothers took over the former Roy Clark Celebrity Theatre, Branson’ s landmark theater in the heart of town. The family not only performs there, but also owns and manages the theater now renamed The Hughes Brothers Theatre.
The Hughes Brothers Theatre is home to several performing groups during the year. But home turf advantage has to go to the Hughes family with the largest group of family performing together. Their show includes the entire family and is truly a can’t miss event when visiting Branson, Missouri.
Hughes Music Show
Some say “keep it in the family” and that’s just what the Hughes Brothers have done! As the family has grown, so has the presence of the children in the show.
With over 30 Hughes Kids now in every show, the Hughes Brothers can claim the description of the “World’s Largest Performing Family.” Certainly the Hughes Brothers Show boasts one of the largest casts in Branson! And these kids are full of talent and energy! They’ve worked hard to be able to sing, dance and perform their instruments in the show.
Family entertainment by a family of entertainers
Prepare yourself for a packed couple of hours of some of the best family entertainment you will see on your trip to Branson. Knowing that all of the performers are from the same family has to touch your heart. Although majority of the children are actually from just one of the Hughes brothers, who knows how many more will be joining the family as the children grow up.
A family run business is tough to pull off for long. But the Hughes Brothers (and family) seem to have found a way to make it work. They would have needed to tap into more than just a desire to perform. Their faith plays a large role in their values and family which is where they credit their ability to “see and work together every day”. I work with a couple of my children, and only part time at that…let’s just say we need to work on it more.
Younger Hughes performers owned the stage
While I enjoyed all of the show, my favorite parts were the acts that they younger children and the teens were spotlighted. Their talent and being so comfortable on stage gives them such a presence.
And of course the natural interaction of the Hughes brothers is a riot. While I am sure the majority of the skits are scripted, some of the “quick looks” or gut bursts of laughter make you wonder if someone isn’t tossing in a few off script looks or comments.
I really can’t say enough about this show and how much I enjoyed it. There was so much going on, even seeing again would seem like a new show. And make sure to hang around after the show to meet the family and ask them any questions you may have about the show or the family. Listening to the younger children talk about how their parents attend all their sports events and school functions drives home that this family puts the first in “Family First”. They are a blessing to watch and a blessing to the Branson community.
If you are planning a visit to Branson, make sure to order your tickets in advance as their shows sell out! And if you are taking in the evening show, book your dinner reservations at the Hughes Brothers Celebrity Dinner Theatre for a delicious dinner before the show. Don’t miss the opportunity to be blessed with a show that you will not soon forget.
